Classroom grouping tool

Random enough for students. Smart enough for teachers.

MixMyClass makes new groups every lesson that remember who has already worked together — and where they sat — while never breaking your seating rules.

No student data ever leaves your school account.

Fictional names. Mix a few times — MixMyClass keeps pairing people who haven't worked together.

Everything a lesson needs

Remembers who worked together

Every saved seating cycle counts. New mixes favour students who haven't worked together yet.

Moves students around the room

Students are steered away from the studio they sat in last time.

Rules that are never broken

Keep apart, keep together, lock to a studio, maximum size — Must rules always hold, or you're told why they can't.

Attendance in one tap

Tap who's away today. Absent students are left out without touching your roster.

A reveal students love

A short suspense countdown with optional sound, then the studios appear one by one.

Fair Student Picker

Picks from who's present, never the same student twice in a row, and works through the whole class.

Presentation mode

Big, clear names for the projector — with none of your private rules or notes.

Five classroom themes

Workshop, Dark, Space Mission, Detective and Sports Teams.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add your class

Type names, paste a list or import a CSV. First names are all you need.

  2. 2

    Tap who's away

Everyone starts present. Tap a name to mark them absent for today.

  3. 3

    Mix, then save the cycle

Adjust by dragging if you like, then save — next lesson's mix will build on it.

Your students' names stay with you

  • • Classes are stored in your browser on your own device.
  • • Optional sync goes to a MixMyClass folder in your Google Drive — the app can only see files it created.
  • • There is no MixMyClass server holding rosters, and no analytics or advertising.
  • • First names are enough. Nothing is ever guessed from a name.
